Foundations of Quantum Mechanics is an excellent addition to the library of physicists and philosophers working on these problems, and makes a very good supplemental text for related advanced undergraduate courses.” (Ian Durham, FQXi Community,January, )Brand: Springer International Publishing.

L. Ballentine, Quantum Mechanics - a modern devlopment, World Scientific () There's a newer edition of this book, but I've not seen it and I can't say what's new in it. I guess, Ballentine might have updated something relevant to the interpretational questions given the recent experimental progress in the last 20 years.

I think this is a very good introduction to philosophical foundations of quantum mechanics from a realist point of view. On the other hand, quantum foundations experts, anti-realists and those who do not like philosophy will not find much value in this book. Intended to be used as a textbook for an introductory course in quantum mechanics at the undergraduate level, Foundations of Quantum Physics is also meant to be retained by the student for later use as a presentation begins with the solution of some basic quantum mechanical problems.

This book is the most complete collection of John S Bell's research papers, review articles and lecture notes on the foundations of quantum mechanics.

None. Foundations of Quantum Mechanics is a different book than one usually finds from the Undergraduate Lecture Notes in Physics. The book is effectively a second course in quantum mechanics for philosophers and so it does ask real physics questions but at its core it asks about quantum theory and ontology/5(25).

Progressing from the fundamentals of quantum mechanics (QM) to more complicated topics, Quantum Mechanics: Foundations and Applications provides advanced undergraduate and graduate students with a comprehensive examination of many applications that pertain to modern physics and engineering.

In Compton explained the inelastic scattering of x-rays by matter by treating the x‑rays as particles with momentum p = h/λ. In de Broglie argued that particles should then have the properties of waves with a wavelength λ. This suggestion led Schrödinger to develop the general underlying theory of Quantum Wave Mechanics in Quantum mechanics, assembled gradually by a group of brilliant minds over the first decades of the 20th century, is an incredibly successful theory.
